Kill with kindness. 🙂
I’ve been sending emails to connect with potential clients.
Today, I got a rude, terse reply from one of the cafe owners.
It was unnecessary. It would have been easier and shorter for the owner to respond with “No thanks!” or just ignore it altogether.
Instead, that owner chose aggression — To a stranger, who reached out via their publicly listed email.
Personally, I LOVE seeing when my competition is rude or just bad at their jobs.
People want to be cared for, to be appreciated, to experience kindness.
It's SO SIMPLE to smile and say something nice and try to give a customer a good experience. And it’s FREE to give away.
Can you think of a place that you like going because the owner or bartender or manager is nice? Where they seem personal and friendly? Where they know your name?
A shop can probably even be mediocre, but if it forms a personal connection, makes people feel appreciated and special -- people will happily come back.
When the competition doesn’t get this, it makes me smile.
